I have to say I’m humbled and honored that Gary wanted to do a another guest comic for us all! It’s a very nice feeling when you know someone enjoys what you are doing and it’s even more remarkable when they offer you fan art or an entire comic to display. Thank you Gary, it was a generous offering and it certainly adds to the holiday spirit!
Hey Bearman! Thanks! I appreciate the kind words. You always see Hodge sitting at his computer , by himself, at night, so who knows what he’s watching!
Hey George! Thanks for the kind words! I enjoy working with Jinksie’s characters. He’s got them so well defined it’s easy putting words to them. As a matter of fact, I’m sure Hodge has had this dream many times before, even a few times while he was still awake. As for Mel; you shouldn’t be talking about another mans lady. Unless of course she really does have a “nice rump!!!” Thanks again George!
Hey Spencey! Thanks for the high marks! Much appreciated! As I said to George (above), Jinksie has done such a great job with his strip and characters, that it makes it easy to sit down and think as they would. He’s really got a great strip going here! Thanks again!
Hey fuzzbucket! No, I’m no professional. I simply enjoy doing cartooning and I just happen to find Jynksie’s characters SO easy to work with. He’s done a GREAT job with his strip and I just wanted to pay a little tribute to him and HSII. Thanks for the kind words!
I was staring at it thinking “Wow, Jynksie really learned how to use his bamboo tablet, but Mel looks a little strange…” when I noticed it was a guest strip.
LOL! I’m a looooong ways off from ze bamboo tablet making any positive improvements to whats being put out there! It is a better tool for coloring, but I can’t draw for $#!@ w/ it yet! o.O
Hey Jynksie! Thanks again for letting me post my rendition of HSII. I love these characters! I have a 6 x 9 tablet, but I’ve never had very good results working with it. After I bought the tablet monitor, I then realized, for the drawing tablet, you need to have it right in front (centered) of your monitor to get the desired results. I had always been working off to the left side, where I am left-handed. Now I know how, but , like the tablet monitor much better! Thanks again for allowing me to display my work. Keep up the great job with HSII!!!
I am drawing with a Genius pad. It’s only $80.00 I think (my wife gave it to me for christmas last year, so I have had it for almost a year)
It took me some time getting used to it, but I like tghe way things are coming out now. (The early ones were crap) The secret is to draw really big and look at the screen, never at the pad.
Hey Nef! Thanks for the nice comments. And you’re right! Mel does look a little strange! Although, hopefully in a “good” kind of way. I don’t use a bamboo tablet, but I do use a touch\drawing monitor similar to a Cintique, but way cheaper and without all the needed extra bells and whistles. It’s a VisBoard brand and cost @ $450.00. Not bad for the price, but limited without any monitor buttons. However, I’b be lost without it. Maybe some day a Cintique. Thanks again for the kind reply!.
Hey Nef! Thanks again for the kind words. I’ve tried working with calligraphy marker pens, (you can see some examples of my work with it in the later RESET comics), but I don’t do a very good job at it. I do much better with a line that does not change. Although, I do like the looks of the calligraphy lines when done correctly. Do you have a web comic? If so, what’s the link? I’d love to take a look at it.

Obviously Hodge was watching Skinemax when he fell asleep. Nice job Gary.

I was rooting big-time for Hodge! Mel’s really got it goin’ on. Nice rump.
Great-looking guest-strip, Gary!

Excellent work! I wanted to give a high five but this deserves a high six! To the finger-add-o-tron!

I rarely comment, but WOW! Gary, are you a professional? You did a really excellent job with jynksies comic.

Hey Nef. Sorry, I neglected to hit the reply button when replying to you, so your reply is a bit further down. Thanks again!

I like your art. It was a little unsettling at first, because I thought it was Jynksie. I know styles evolve, but that was way too fast
Your lines are very clean and I tend to favor cel-shading, although I am still learning how to do it myself.

You’re welcome to check it out.
Ha! Skin-a-max! It could be worse. He could have been watching Friday the 13th or something.
Hodge is afraid of scary movies, ironic no?!? o.O
