MADBURY is the online comic that follows the oddities of a small group of New Hampshire residents from Granite Hills! MADBURY can be a political, satirical, humorous, or poignant comic strip, but it will never have you leaving with more intellect than you arrived with.

Hodge Madbury- He’s the lovable lunk, the every man, that no matter how much he loses in life, you still want to root for him. He’s facing middle age, a declining career as an editor and columnist, with his lifes dream of becoming the next great american author fading into the sunset. Will he triumph?

Melinda Madbury- She is Hodges long suffering, but devoted wife. A career woman who chose to climb the ladder of success, rather than stay home and raise kids (or as she refers to them as, mucus producing rug rats), Melinda redefines women in the new millennium. She’s a strong willed, opinionated woman and yet has an incredible soft spot for her husband and fixing his life’s foibles.

Domino Pappajonghino- He is Hodges long time friend and local barkeep of the Granite Street Pub. A self described bachelor with an unspoken addiction to the joys of bedroom aerobics. Domino is all about the vanity, the fun and the in the moment-moments in life. While Hodge is the thinker and the pontificator, Domino grabs Hodges words and turns them into action, much to Hodge’s wife, Melinda’s dismay!

Maggie May Waddilove- She is Melinda’s sassy, easy going Mother, who has been married five times throughout the course of her life. She too lives in the moment, for she has the wisdom of experience and the lessons of life firmly in her grasp. She’s proof that growing older doesn’t mean retirement homes and bingo nights, which her daughter Melinda wishes her Mother would at least consider!

Mr. Bigotto- You’ll never actually “see” him, but he appears now and again as Hodges boss and publisher of New Hampshires largest and most conservative newspaper, “The Daily Granite”. Mr. Bigotto is constantly putting Hodge at odds with his own beliefs for the benefit of his own agenda, even if they are unpopular with newspapers own readers, which has slowly been eroding the newspaper relevancy in the state.

The Resident Lesbians- Sami and Kalena [Kali] are longtime friends of Hodge and Melinda who came to Granite Hills to marry and settle into the trials and tribulations of married life in a state that celebrates the equality of matrimony. Listen and learn how Melinda and Sami share similarities to the daily challenges of making any committed relationship last a lifetime.
