Next Wednesday brings us to that magical 100th strip! I have no idea why this milestone has become such a big fuss in the comics community, it seems to be a requirement that you make a big to do and go all out for it!
So, to be different next week, there will be no update and when we return the week after, it will be strip no. 101 with no fan fare!! *grin* … I kid- I KID!! See ya Wednesday for number 100!!

I guess 100 is such a nice round number. Unlike say 83. Not the same impact, lol.
Well, to me, the first 100 strips are all about finding your way with the comic you’ve created. Can’t understand how people give up before 100, it’s still in diapers at this point!
Woot! 100 soon!
Hehe Mel’s mom is an interesting character.
Oh and in case u didn’t get my Tweet….. Calamities of Nature is on hiatus! Nooooooo……
Mels Mom will be around for a few episodes, but when she leaves, she’s taking one of the cast members with her! (I’m writing one of them out) o.O
(Tony– if yer reading this *GASP* …whhhhhyyyyyy???!!)
Whoa!! He slept with Mel’s MOM!!! I must have missed that story line.
Domino had himself a Mrs. Robinson, or a Stifflers MOM, or Rod Stewarts infamous “Maggie May”… but yeah, Mels Mom is a cat scratching cougar *rawr*
Great strip today. Can’t wait to read the 100th next week. I think one of the reason that 100 is such a significant figure, is that a lot of webcomics simply don’t make it that far (ahem – my cat comic, for example). You have a good comic and good characters. I’m looking forward to celebrating with them.
Those are nice words Spencey, thanks!! This is the first comic I’ve ever hit 100 with myself, so I hear ya! Even if this comic remains small with a niche amount of readers, I can’t imagine not doing it. There is something about these characters I simply enjoy and want to continue developing!
Hmm… I am trying to stretch my memory to see where I have heard this before…reality or something else?! Hmm…. and I really hope that Maggie May doesn’t take Sam with her!! he he! Looking forward to #100.
Maggie May will not be stealing away any of the lesbians… how would Hodge survive w/o them?!? As for your memory vs. reality, do we want me to go there?!? *grin*
She gets nothing for Mother’s Day. NOTHING AT ALL!
Oh she gets SOMETHING for Mothers Day alright!! o.O *grin*
Oh, Jynksie, you bad, bad boy. I’m loving your bawdy sense of humor, man!
It’s going to stay bawdy until Mother Robinson departs! *grin*
Congratz in 100. I think it’s just another number, but when you are in work such as making comic strips, every excuse to party is acceptable.
I celebrate each and every single one of mine as an achievement.
Heh, thats how I feel Nef! Every time I get a comic to publish, it’s an achievement, so to me 100 is no different than the first 99 or next amount of whatevers!
Funerals are a nice place to meet swinging people!…living or otherwise.
… or otherwise… …. …. I learn waaaay more about you guys with every comment you make!! LMFAO!!!
I am 35 years old, I am divorced, and I’M LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!!!
…and the Urban Dictionary has it’s own definition for that: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=living%20in%20a%20van%20down%20by%20the%20river
Trading one stiff for another — buh duh BUM!
HAH! … that one needs no reply fro me!! *grin*
100 is a big deal because you likely use a numbering system for your archives like, “Comic01, Comic02, …etc”. When you reach Comic 100 your whole numbering system falls apart (i.e. Y2K) and you have to redesign your entire site. If you aren’t prepared, you will surely want to make a big hoopla when you get this whole thing sorted out.
o.O …. AHHHHHRRRRRRRGGGGGGG!! *runs to a dark corner*
