Interesting way to introduce a new character, no? Samantha joins the cast of HSII as a recurring character who moves to the area so she can marry her long time partner Marcie. Marcie will join the cast later next month as HSII celebrates one year of mediocrity! It’s been determined that lesbians are popular these days…. and I think I can speak for most men when I say, “when weren’t they?!?”
My wife starts a lot of sentences with “once you’re gone, my NEXT husband…”… blah-blah-blah!! Which is why I tell -everyone- that no matter how innocent my death appears to be, have it investigated!! Should I be saying this online ?!? LOL
I was reading some works by American poet Ogden Nash and came across the above poem and decided I wanted to borrow it for this weeks strip. The words could not be more true if you’ve ever experienced a moment in your relationship where you, for once, were right! The one moment in my 12 years of marriage where I was right about something, was actually caught on tape and my wifes brother gave me the audio/video of her saying just THAT!! Of course once I received the copy, I played it for her and I promptly got in trouble for something I did in 1998… completely unrelated of course!!
Poet Ogden Nash was known for writing humorous poetry during his respected career, he was also a lyricist for several broadway musicals in the 50′s (I forgive him for those however!). My most favorite poem by him is very short and sweet…
“candy
is dandy,
but liquor
is quicker”
A question, a teaser, if you are pleaser, who wrote Nantucket, the one that doesn’t say “f*** it”? — a question by me
Ahhhhh, springtime…. when a young man’s fancy turns to, well, allergies and flying underpants!! It’s the price we pay for enjoying the great outdoors after a long, cold, gray, dull, snowy winter!! I’m more than happy to sacrifice my underpants to the allergy gods if it means warm weather is-a-comin!! …TMI, I know, but I am a sharer!!!
The newspaper business is falling faster than AIG stock these days!! In fact today, the Chicago Sun-Times announced it’s going bankrupt and many out there are saying that print news media is indeed dead in it’s current form.
The role of newspapers in our society has very much helped shape local communities and given balance to the political landscape by having multiple voices and opinion. When you end up in a one newspaper environment, or worse, no newspaper at all, you get a skewed perspective of the local pulse and opinions of the community. I wonder how these voids will be filled?
